Tips on Hanging Canvas Prints

Instead of getting regular posters to accent the walls of your home, why not opt for a canvas painting instead? It is more personable and makes a great statement for your abode. Just take note that this decorative item needs to be securely anchored to the wall, and here are tips on how to do that.

Pick a spot to hang the canvas painting. This will depend on the size of your item and where you feel the colour scheme or design will match best in the house. Remember to choose a wall space that is not curved, this will prevent your intended display from being properly secured to the wall.

Next, measure the dimensions of the painting. Once this is done, you can then proceed to setting the canvas measurements on the wall. Using a pencil, mark where each side of the canvas edge will end. The marked locations will determine where the nails will need to be hammered into. Draw one circle marking on the far left edge, one directly in the centre, and another at the far right. Make certain that the level measures are straight across.

Secure a nail into each of the three markings using a hammer. Each nail should be an inch into the wall and half an inch out of the wall so the canvas can hang comfortably.

Finally, attach the canvas painting onto the three nails. Make sure that it is secured before letting it hang loose. Step back and examine if the picture is straight across and even; adjust if necessary.
